Message from Leadership Team
Over the past several weeks, we as a leadership team have been seeking the Lord for His wisdom, guidance, and desiries for the body of Christ at Silver Springs. Yesterday the Montgomery County Judge issued orders requiring churches not meet in their buildings for service. This order is difficult for us on many levels. First, we believe it is not a judge who presides over the affairs of the Lord's church. Christ is the head of his church and thus we look to Christ first for His direction and guidance. Additionally, we believe this order is in direct violation of our First Amendment rights protected by the constitution that are powers we have expressly not given to the government.
So it is our time of prayer and seeking the Lord that we have made the decision to move our Sunday morning service online.
We do not feel led at this time to defy the Judge's orders as a church body and feel it is the Lord guiding us in the best way to lead the body of believers at Silver Springs. We believe the Lord impressed on our hearts that there will be occasions where it is wise to evacuate a building. For instance, if there were a fire or an active shooter situation we would evacuate.
Join us as we continue to prayerfully and humbly seek the Lord for His direction and pray that each of you would be prepared to follow Christ in His direction in your life no matter how the world responds to circumstances around them.
We are looking at ways to connect our Sunday morning Bible Study groups together online for the next couple of weeks and will be sending out information and details. soon.
Humble, faithful, obedience is the only place that is truly 'safe' for us as believers. Scripture reminds us that, "God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble," "without faith, it is impossible to please God," and "if you love Me you will obey My commands." So let us, "fix our eyes on the author and perfector of our faith" in order that our faith would grow during this time.
In His Grace,
Pastor Scott, Darrin Rawls, Marvin Russell, Willie McCloud
